Officially three weeks ago you had left Vi in that hole in the tracks, you found yourself constantly trying to silence that voice in the back of your head reproaching you for your mistake.
You tried to replace the pink haired girl with another girl, but Maddie wasn't Vi. She wasn't even half as comparable to Vi.
When Maddie found you awake and started kissing your neck, trying to get you back into bed, you forced a smile and told her you'd be there in a moment, asking her to go ahead.
As soon as you saw Maddie walk into the room, you set your plan in motion. Being a commander definitely had its perks, a few weeks ago you had received a report about an illegal fighting pit, maybe you wouldn't have cared and would have given the case to another officer if you haven't seen a picture of her, Vi, with her hair dyed black and her makeup smeared she looked different, but you would recognize those eyes anywhere.
You sneaked out of the house, driving to the direction of the pit where you saw people of all kinds, earning yourself a few curses but managing to make it to the front seats, and there you saw her fighting with a man almost twice her size and weight, your eyes filled with concern but she managed to knock him out.
She raised her arm to celebrate the victory and screamed, but the joy and pride didn't reach her eyes. You watched her walk away and hurried to follow her to a bar full of people. Your eyes scanned the room in search of Vi, until you found her with her head resting against the counter, a bottle in her hand.
You navigated through the crowd and your eyes met, a mix of surprise and fondness appearing in her eyes as she approached you, finding you in the middle of the dance floor, clumsily following the movements of the music stumbling until her hands found you. She rested her forehead against yours, while her bandaged hands held your waist.
“Cupcake… Are you real?” Vi whispered, fearing that you were another one of her hallucinations.
