The BAU team steps out of a black SUV in the police station parking lot. Despite the clear morning, the town seems gloomy: all the windows are covered with curtains, and residents are avoiding eye contact. There is anxiety in the air today.

They are met inside the station by Sheriff Harris, a short, nervous man with deep wrinkles. He quickly leads them into the briefing room. On the wall are photographs of a murder victim - a 32-year-old man, Evan Carter, a local math teacher. His body was found yesterday morning in the woods near his home.

Hotchner stands at the table, studying the photographs.

    • "Tell us what we have."

    The sheriff shakes his head.

    • "Almost nothing. Evan was a well-liked man at school, no trouble with the law, no enemies. His wife says he left the house for a jog and never came back. The killer acted quickly and cleanly - no signs of a struggle."

Derek Morgan looks at the crime scene photographs of Evan's body lying neatly on the ground. — "He was killed with a single, precise stab to the heart. This isn't a random fight - this is professionalism."

Spencer Reid takes the floor, not looking up from his notes.

"This may not be the first murder. We need to check the records. If the killer is targeting men, then he probably has some kind of personal motive. But the location of the death and the way the body was laid out neatly indicate something more than just a fit of rage."

Emily Prentiss looks at the map of the woods where the body was found.

"Sheriff, is this a popular jogging spot? Did the killer know Evan would be there alone, or was he waiting for someone else?"

    The sheriff sighs.

"This isn't a crowded area. Evan was the only one who jogged there every morning. I think the killer was watching him, knew his routine."

J.J. joins the discussion, checking Evan's family background. — "He has a wife and a two-year-old son. If this isn't a random occurrence, the killer may have wanted to leave a message. Do we know anything about the family's financial or personal problems?"
