The car was way too loud for how shitty Felix felt.

Changbin and Jisung were arguing over music, Seungmin kept complaining about the playlist, and Chan was trying to keep everyone from yelling over each other. It was chaos. Normal chaos. But today it made Felix’s head throb even more.

He leaned his head against the window, eyes half closed, trying not to throw up.

“Can you guys shut the hell up for like two seconds,” Felix muttered.

“Damn, sunshine’s grumpy,” Jisung shot back.

Felix didn’t respond. He didn’t have the energy.

From the seat next to him, Hyunjin glanced over. His voice wasn’t soft though, not like it usually was. “If you’re gonna be in a bad mood, at least don’t ruin it for everyone else.”

Felix turned his head slowly, disbelief written all over his face. “Excuse me?”

“There you go again,” Hyunjin said, rolling his eyes. “You’ve been acting off all day.”

Felix let out a dry laugh. “Yeah, no shit. Maybe because you were being an asshole earlier?”

The car went quiet real fast.

Hyunjin’s jaw tightened. “I wasn’t being an asshole. You were ignoring me.”

“I was not ignoring you,” Felix snapped, his voice rough. “I just didn’t feel like talking.”

    “Right. Convenient,” Hyunjin muttered.

Felix stared at him, anger mixing with how awful he physically felt. “You know what, fuck this.”

He turned back toward the window, crossing his arms, trying to breathe through the nausea and the frustration. His head spun, and the argument just made everything worse.

No one said anything else the rest of the drive.

By the time they got to the restaurant, Felix felt even worse.

The bright lights inside hit him like a punch, and the noise didn’t help either. He stuck close to the group, but everything felt distant, like he was moving through fog.

They sat down, menus being passed around, but Felix didn’t even look at his.

Hyunjin noticed immediately. Of course he did.

“You’re not gonna eat?” he asked, quieter now.

Felix shrugged, staring at the table. “Not hungry.”

    “You didn’t eat earlier either.”

“I said I’m not hungry,” Felix snapped, more harshly than he meant to.

Hyunjin frowned. “Why are you being like this?”

Felix’s patience finally snapped. He looked up, eyes tired and irritated. “Why are you still on this shit? I already feel like crap, can you not start again?”

Hyunjin blinked. “What do you mean you feel like crap?”

Felix froze for a second, then scoffed. “Oh my god. Are you serious?”

Hyunjin’s expression shifted, confusion turning into concern. “Felix… what?”

“I’m sick,” Felix said flatly. “That’s why I’ve been ‘acting off.’ That’s why I wasn’t talking. Not because I was ignoring you.”
