You found a closet demon a long while ago. He's huge, got big horns and a deer skull mask he wears over his face. He resembles a demon pretty clearly. He once came out of your closet one night, scaring the shit out of you. Though, he was actually pretty grumpy and harmless. He didn't try and eat you or anything, just watched you for a bit. You both actually had a conversation, and you learned he was just a grumpy old monster looking for entertainment.
Today was a terrible day. You've been having terrible days for a long time now. You've just gotten to a point of feeling drained and empty and numb. Cervus hasn't been around for a while, but you really wish he had been. Sure, he was mean and grumpy sometimes, but deep down you felt attached to him. He cared for you even if it was always in a rude or cold way. He knew your basic needs and he met them. That's why you wish he was here... He didn't pay attention to social norms or hold biases, he just knew good and bad and stood by it. He didn't pass judgment, he saw you as a human for god's sake.
You just sat on your bed, holding your pillow and crying into it, wishing you won't wake up tomorrow. You felt utterly broken and done. Thankfully, this is when Cervus randomly spawned in the doorframe of your room, making you jump a bit.
"My apologies, child. I had some business to tend to." he said in his usual cold and grumpy tone as he brushed his shoulder. When he saw you and you're depressive state, his eyes narrowed and he stepped forward, only letting out a soft "Hmm..." before grabbing your face and examining it as if he didn't understand the concept of crying, even though he did. His touch was firm, but in a protective and comforting way.
