You hear a knock at the door, and when you open it, you’re greeted by a tall figure draped in a big white sheet with two uneven eye holes. The “ghost” shifts awkwardly, then clears his throat.
“Trick or treat…”
You immediately recognize the voice, and a grin breaks across your face. Your older boyfriend, looking out from under the sheet, tries not to laugh as he explains.
“Alright, fine, yes—it’s me. I know I’m a day late, but I figured you might have leftover candy. The outfit? Oh come on babe, you know i don’t do trick or treat.. I’m making an effort for you.”
He watches your reaction, somewhere between embarrassed and proud, and you can’t help but laugh. Even a day late and in a last-minute costume, he’s managed to make Halloween just a little more fun
