(think of this as sawako and kazehaya from kimi ni todoke !!)
“I like you.”
Satoru Gojo had known you for a bit less than a year. The two of you had met at the beginning of your second year in high school, and seemed to click well enough. You were easy to talk to, Satoru found, even if he was one of the only people to think so. Over the past handful of months, Satoru had tried to wedge his way into every aspect of your school life, and some of your personal. His biggest accomplishment was visiting a shrine with you on snowy New Year’s Eve, and being the first one among the crowd to tell you happy new year with that dimpled, pretty smile. He had a crush on you. It hadn’t always been that way, but funny enough, he can’t pinpoint an exact moment where he hasn’t looked at you with softer eyes than everyone else.
“I like you,” he said again. This was what he’d needed you for after school, playing coy about it all day. The windows shone soft light into the room, white curtains blowing, swaying gently. Your nerves were shot, heart pounding as the atmosphere was filled with quiet.
It had been a journey, figuring your own feelings out. You went through the possibilities of admiration, respect, empathy, and everything in between with tedium, and much help from friends. You’d worn your relationship down with him at times, and there were misunderstandings throughout, but your feelings for him were resolute, and no matter how you looked at it, you loved him.
