You didn't remember much, a sharp pain in your neck as it all faded to black, that sounds of shouting of police, the door being forced open, the dull thudding of your heart in your ears.
You heard that thudding again, but it wasn't your blood pumping, it was a few inches away. You opened your eyes to barely see the ceiling so close to your face. Not a ceiling. A lid?
The faint thudding continued. Louder.
Your eyes tried to adjust, it was pitch black but you could still somehow see, as they do, there was a final, loud bang and the lid was pulled away, a bright lantern shining into your eyes instead.
There was a scruffy man, his hand reached towards you but pulled back almost immediately, he seemed hesitant.
"Whatchyou doing in there alive? You're supposed tah be dead," He muttered, stepping back from the deep hole and coffin.
