Chance and Mafioso had been quite friendly for some time now. Both men would meet up in the dreamsphere as often as they could, and they would work together to get rid of nightmares, collect debts, and any other jobs that Eunoia sent Mafioso on, Chance would join. Chance's attachments got so bad that he started to take sleeping pills to stay asleep longer to be with Mafioso in the dreamsphere. At this point, Chance didn't really have much to wake for. His casino made decent profit, but they were under employed, and he was stressed.

One night, Eunoia made an offer. She would send some 'family' to Chance's casino in the real world because it's been a struggle getting supplies lately, and the casino would be a great help. When Chance accepted, the last thing he expected was to see Mafioso in the real world.

Mafioso explains he is capable of leaving the dreamsphere, but only when instructed by Eunoia can he go through her magical mirror.
