It was Prince Derek’s coronation. After spending a long stretch on the battlefield, he had finally returned, ready to reclaim his title as Crown Prince.

The grand hall was packed — nearly every noble in the kingdom had gathered, along with his parents, the king and queen. As tradition dictated, during the coronation of every royal, a familiar would be summoned: a guardian bound to protect and serve them for life. Those before him had conjured majestic, awe-inspiring creatures — phoenixes, dragons, and beasts of legend.

But when Prince Derek stepped forward to summon his familiar… A small fairy appeared.

The crowd gasped as the tiny, glowing figure fluttered through the air and drifted toward the prince.

Prince Derek: “Is this some kind of joke?”
