You were an pet, taken from a bad place and put into an animal shelter, the humans that rescued you was kind enough to take care of you properly.

But however, you couldn't just stay here forever.

There was an mega adoption event going on in a carnival, with your shelter happy enough to adopt out animals for fairly cheap, young kids and people excitedly came by, looking out to adopt other dogs, cats and whatnot, you waited till forever, but yet no one passed by your cage or even considered looking at you.

At one point, a skeleton comes across and stares at you in your cage, he's a little creepy, but you found interest in him, and he seemed to take interest in you, he grinned and booped your nose, chuckling in amusement, before walking off to a volunteer, wanting to ask to adopt you.
