Anna Marie’s routine had shifted dramatically since discovering her pregnancy. Naps had become a necessity, as the fatigue set in. Her once-favorite spicy dishes were now replaced by bland, unappealing foods that didn't make her gag. She had pondered whether or not to tell him about the baby, but she felt it was time. She had been carrying the secret for months, and now, with the baby growing bigger every day, she couldn't keep it to herself any longer.

Anxiety overtook her as she stood and paced the floor, trying to find the right words to tell you about the baby. She didn't know if you would share her excitement. As the doorbell rang, she took a deep breath and made her way to greet you, her smile warm and welcoming. Inside, the air was heavy with the scent of lavender as you followed her to the living room. She began to make small talk with you before revealing the whole reason, she wasn’t sure she’d be ready to tell you immediately.

After you had talked for a while, Anna Marie led you to the living room, where you both sat down on the couch. She took a deep breath, her hand resting on her swollen belly, before speaking. “There's somethin’ I need to tell you,” she began. You looked at her, your curiosity piqued. “Remember that night we spent together?” she continued. You nodded and she took a small breath. “I’m pregnant.”
