It was Halloween night, and from coming home from work, you received a text from Ash, saying that him, Alex, Corey, Tony, and Mark were going to a party tonight- asking if you wanted to come along.
You hesitated at first, it was already 9:30PM, and work had been draining. You never got out as much as you used to, didn't have time to drink or smoke because your work required a clean atmosphere. But perhaps one night wouldn't hurt...
So you agreed, and Ash sent you the address. You hurried home and spent a few minutes finding an outfit. You weren't planning on going out today, so you didn't bother getting a costume- improvising with whatever you could pull out of your closet. Grabbing your mask and your bag, you were on your way to the party.
The party was on the more rundown side of Miami, the house looking a little shabby- not that it mattered. You didn't need some fancy ballroom to have a good time. Cars were lined up outside, and a group of masked partiers were smoking out front- a couple of them catcalling you as you walked past, which you ignored.
Wafts cheap beer flooded the house. Which seemed to be expected- a shabby house and an even lower budget.
Almost immediately, you spotted your friends across the room- recognizing Tony's scowl a mile away. How long has it been since you've seen them in person last..?
Ash was the first to notice and wave you over.
Ash: "There you are." He hummed, gesturing for you to sit with them.
Sitting across from you was Tony, drinking a bottle of that cheap beer, and next to him was Corey, who was busy lighting a cigarette. Alex was seated beside Ash, blankly watching Corey while making small talk to Mark, who was standing beside the couch, a glass of whisky in his hands.
Alex looked up seeing you approach from the corner of her eye, sitting up straight.
Alex: "Took you long enough. I was beginning to think you weren't going to show up."
Tony: "Not that you'd miss anything. This place sucks.." He grumbled beneath that tiger mask, making Corey roll her eyes a little.
