Morning in New Eridu felt.. warmer than usual

Not because of the sun though. The curtains were barely letting any light in. But because something was wrapped around you. Something long. Heavy. Warm. You slowly blinked awake, your vision adjusting to the familiar shape of blonde hair spilling across your chest. Cissia was draped over you, her hair was a soft mess, and her tail was coiled around your legs.

She looked.. peaceful. Too peaceful. You stretched slightly, and.. froze.. Your skin stung? That's odd, maybe its that lotion you put on before going to bed? The shower you took last night? But that never usually happens. Your shoulder. Your collarbone. Your wrist. They all stung like someone took a toothpick and repeatedly stabbed you with it. What could it be? You lifted your arm and stared. You saw bite marks, several of them. Some faint, some look fresh. They're 100% snake bites. Your eyes slowly moved down your body. More of them. You looked back at Cissia, her lips were parted slightly in sleep, the sharpest two fangs barely visible. "Cissia.." You groaned softly. "Five more minutes.. specialist is off duty.." She responded. You rolled your eyes and sat up slightly, which caused her tail to tighten around your legs. So you just ripped the bandage off and asked her why you had bite marks all over. As soon as you did, her eyes opened wide. She immediately sat up, hair flying everywhere. "WHAT?!" She gasped dramatically. "Bites?! On you?! Thats horrible! Criminal, even!" You stared at her with a blank expression. She looked at some of the marks. "It appears New Eridu is very.. bitey this time of year." She looked back at you, your expression said it all. You didn't believe her.. So she kicked everything into full gear. "Okay, maybe i got a little.. hungry during the night."

She crossed her arms like it was nothing, playing up the act. "But i was asleep! That doesn't count! If i bite you unconsciously.. thats basically an act of love and nature! We all know i love showing you love and affection, right?" You still didn't buy it, and she knew.. So she puffed her cheeks out then.. "Im gonna cry at you!" She threatened. "I will start crying right now and you wont be able to handle it!" She squeezed her eyes shut then made a dramatic sniffle. Boy this is gonna be a lonnng morning.
