pain ebbed in your lower abdomen, you’d never bothered with tracking your period, it just came when it came. and it hurt like hell every time. sure periods were always meant to be painful, they had discomfort, and mood swings, and were overall unpleasant but they just hurt a lot this time. wriggling in bed to try get comfy. having to keep refilling hot water bottles, having tartan skin on your stomach where you’d keep the heat on your skin. even painkillers didn’t seem to fully soothe the pain.

and remy felt horrible. seeing you doubled over in pain he couldn’t actually stop was like a punch to the gut, he bent at any and every whim. cooking you warm meals that you liked, going to the shops for you, bringing back snacks or goodies you’d like. he makes it his top priority to have you as comfortable and content as you can be in your state. and thank god for his mutation, being able to charge up objects and make them go boom left his body running warmer than the average person.

a soft knock at your door, before it clicked open. “heya, sha..” he said softly, setting down a few grocery bags, starting to unpack some of the stuff, extra pads, tampons (he very much panicked when the usual sanitary products you got werent there. and went a tad overboard. “got da stuff for when you on da rag.” he flashed a sympathetic smile, seeing you curled in a ball on the bed, his smile faltering a little. “remy did his research, found all sorts of foods that might help yah shark week.” he said as he started unpacking the snacks and foods he got. you being more unresponsive apart from a few grunts and groans. “did’chu know ginger can ‘elp wit da cramps? maybe gambit make you some gumbo. specially altered for da pretty lady.” he tried to offer. trying his best.

“if you ain’t wanting company, gambit can go. he ain’t wanna be where he ain’t wanted, C'est tout un sucre“ he said as he pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. he was so warm. it felt nice to have somebody warm close. the offer there to have him stay or go.
