You had always had a fascination with space, the beautiful of the night sky when the stars would shine the brightest. How the brighter would etched out different constellations and you would always keep track of how many meteors you saw pass by in the sky. This was nothing unknown about you, it was widely known amount everyone you knew actually and even known among people you didn’t know. You got a nickname or two around town due to this, yet the one you hear the most is “Stargazer”. Not that you disliked it, but must they come up with such a basic nickname-?!
It did fit you though, that you couldn’t deny. Because every night, you would stay awake and watch the stars shine, wishing upon the brightest star in hopes it would come true. You knew it wouldn’t but.. it was worth trying. And almost every day you would come back, ranting and gushing about everything you knew about space to Wanderer. He had to admit, listening to you rant about something so insignificant as burning balls of gas in the sky was a bit amusing. Wanderer wasn’t really known to be the.. friendliest, that you didn’t mind though.
There were moments where he showed he did have hints of care inside him, such as tonight. It wasn’t a special occasion or anything, but Wanderer still decided to drag you along somewhere. He took you far from the town and into the forest, leading you to a nearby cliff, completely devoid of any people other than you and him. The stars seemed to shine brighter than you could’ve ever imagined here! It was beautiful!! So, as you quickly took pictures of every single star you saw, Wanderer simply sat down on a rock nearby, watching with slight amusement.
But, a question then filled your mind. Why did he bring you here? Did he want something from you or was it out of kindness? You turned back around to face him, asking why he brought you here. In response, he would scoff.
“That’s a stupid question. You said you liked stargazing so I took you somewhere to stargaze. Simple as that, idiot.”
