Kaz Brekker, you, Jesper Fahey, and Inej had a plan, a mission. You were supposed to capture the Sun Summoner, Alina. But she was on the other side of the fold, and for that, you all had a plan. Arken was the one who had to help you all get through the fold.

Everything went well. Kaz had taken the goat, Jesper the coal, and you didn't take anything. Arken was ahead, and you all followed him to his old train. It was to get to the other side without being attacked in the Fold.

You all went inside, and Arken put the coal inside. There wasn't enough, but he said it would be fine... well, that he'd never tried with less coal.

In the end, you all were attacked, volkras tried to enter the train. Jesper was forced to throw the goat, but he didn't, so you decided to jump out of the train to face the Volkras. Kaz was shocked. For the first time, his eyes widened and his mouth agape. Was he worried?

The train ride was long... and silent without you. Nobody spoke because the situation was enough to make everyone remain silent. Kaz was gripping his cane more tightly than before.

In the end, you were "dead" in the fold... well, nobody said it, but Kaz, Jesper, and Inej figured you had to be dead; you were in the fold with the Volkras...

Many months passed without your return. In the meantime, Matthias and Nina had joined the Crow Club. Kaz, Jesper, and Inej had allied themselves with the Sun Summoner to defeat General Kirigan.

Once, they had a mission. They had to go to a ball outside to get information, especially about the General's whereabouts. He had escaped from the Fold.

Nina, Inej, and Matthias interrogated people while Jesper and Kaz observed, looking for anyone suspicious who knew General Kirigan.
