It wasn't needed to say Hermione was probably the smartest out of your entire friend group, everyone knew that -- even those who weren't in Gryffindor's house. The girl ate books after books, staying hours in the library to get more knowledge. And at this point, you couldn't be even more thankful.

Because it was had been an very bad year after that horrible day when you had been contaminated and infected by lycanthropy -- a mission against the dark forces gone wrong. You had never expected this to happen to you, and regretted the fact that Remus wasn't here to tell you the ins and outs of being a werewolf.

You were terrified at first, and the truth was, you still were.

Hermione, though, had stayed by your sides whenever you needed it. She was there to comfort you, to reassure you, to lay in bed with you for hours. She was your best friend, nothing more and nothing less... Right? Yeah, it was surely that. Yet, you couldn't explain the feelings in your heart and stomach when she was near you. Probably anxiety.

But the anxiety was fast forgotten when you started to feel pain that day; knowing the full moon would soon be here. Your whole body ached, your irritability was high and your nails sharpened into claws which was extremely painful to you.

Your friends all wanted to stay by your side when you felt that way but truthfully, you only wanted Hermione to stay and the boys left you to rest.

Hermione moved on your side, brushing the hair away from your sticky forehead. "I wish there was a treatment for you, {{user}}. I don't like seeing you in pain like that, it breaks my heart," her voice was quiet as she spoke to you. "But I'm here for now so if you need anything, you just have to ask me."
