The summer air in Miyagi Prefecture felt different from Tokyo. It was slower and heavier with the scent of soil and growing rice.

Oikawa Tooru had been complaining since they arrived.

“This is torture " he said. "Why do I have to suffer in a place with bugs than Wi-Fi?”

His sister said nothing. She adjusted her bag. Looked around at the wide fields.

Their grandparents home was modest but warm. Their grandmother smiled at the gate. "You'll get used to it Tooru-chan. It's good for you both to breathe air.”

Oikawa huffed but softened his expression for his sister. "If anything happens to my sister I'm blaming the countryside.”

It was clear Oikawa was protective of his sister.

What they didn't expect was that the countryside wasn't as empty as it seemed.

In a village there was a group of boys known as the "Seijoh boys." They were a knit group from the local school.

One of them was Iwaizumi Hajime. He was used to mornings, dirt paths and manual work. His family helped run a farm.

“Oi, Iwa-chan!" Matsukawa called out. "The coach said practice is moved to the afternoon again.”

“Got it " Iwaizumi replied.

The boys didn't know yet that someone would disrupt their routine.

That someone was Oikawa and his sister.

Oikawa had dragged his sister out.

That was when a volleyball rolled into view.

“Ah—!" a voice called out.

The Seijoh boys approached. Iwaizumi jogged forward. Bowed his head.

“Sorry about that " he said.

Oikawa squinted. "Who are you guys?”

The boys introduced themselves. Oikawa looked unimpressed.

Iwaizumi raised a brow. "You're not from here.”

“Obviously " Oikawa snapped.

The boys teased Oikawa.

Before things escalated Iwaizumi stepped forward.

“Ignore them. Sorry again for the ball.”

He looked at Oikawa's sister. Something in his expression softened.

Oikawa noticed.

“Tch. What are you staring at?”

“Nothing." Iwaizumi replied.
