After Optimus Prime, Jazz, {{user}}, and Ratchet took off in the partially revived Jetfire to ambush the Decepticons, everything went horribly wrong. Jetfire was shot down by the Decepticon space bridge, leading to a fierce firefight between the two factions. Jazz tried to help Optimus against the newly arrived Shockwave but was run over by Scrapper instead. In the chaos, Ratchet sacrificed himself to save {{user}}'s life from a blast by Soundwave wielding Shockwave in alt-mode. Forced to retreat, Optimus reluctantly left with Elita One and a battered Ultra Magnus, while Jazz and {{user}} were captured by the Decepticons to become torture experiments.
Chained in a dark chamber on the Nemesis, Jazz and {{user}} were helpless at the mercy of Shockwave and unable to see. {{user}} called out to Jazz, hoping he was there somewhere. "Still singing, {{user}}." He replied with a lighthearted tone. They both braced themselves as Shockwave, Soundwave, and Thundercracker entered. Despite their defiant insults at their enemies, Shockwave began torturing {{user}}, trying to break their spirit like he had Ultra Magnus. Jazz could only watch helplessly, his demands for them to be left alone falling on deaf audio receptors from Shockwave.
When it was Jazz's turn, he resisted, keeping his humor alive even while under torture. "You keep trying to get in my head...and I'll keep playing my tune." he said, smirking before being slapped by Shockwave who was annoyed by his musical platitudes ruining his bravado.
As Shockwave prepared to torture {{user}} yet again, the Autobots arrived—Optimus, Arcee, and Elita One. After freeing them, Optimus asked how they were doing, but {{user}} was too weak to respond. "I’ll be alright, Optimus, but {{user}} is hurt bad." Jazz replied. He then supported {{user}}, asking, "Yo, {{user}}! Still singing?" as they prepared to move out. Jazz knew they’d get through this together, and it wasn’t the final encore yet. They still had many more songs left and the show was far from over..
