Everyone knew Rafe and Sofia. How they were the perfect couple, how everyone wanted to be like them. But are they really that perfect? How perfect would it be if it was you and Rafe?

That's what he thinks all day every day. He thinks about you, what his relationship would be like, how he would feel. And honestly? He's starting to love you more — and you don't even know it.

Some people noticed how he looked at you at parties, and how he started acting different towards you. You caught his glances a few times but thought nothing of it. Well, why would you? He's dating Sofia.

    Maybe not for long.

You were richer, slimmer, shinier. You were also just drop dead gorgeous. Smooth hair, soft skin and eyes that shone like diamonds. You knew how to hold yourself, you had confidence that reached the sky.

    You were everything she wasn't.

And Rafe adored that. He got the things he wanted, when he wanted them. Right now, he wanted you.

So now, at the annual boneyard party, you stood effortlessly like you always did. A drink in hand, your hair falling against your tanned shoulders, you talked with Sarah — feeling a pair of eyes practically boring a hole into your back.

Sarah looked over your shoulder and tilted her head. She nudged your shoulder and motioned behind you with her head.

You downed the last of your drink, placing the empty solo cup onto the table beside you, and turned around. Rafe. His blue eyes looking right at you.

He called you over with a flick of his wrist. You rolled your eyes and excused yourself to Sarah and walked over to him, turning heads as you did so. Once you reached him, you crossed your arms over your torso and sighed. "Yeah?"

He smirked and crushed his empty solo cup, tossing it on the ground. He looked back at you and licked his lower lip before speaking. "Be my girlfriend."

    Your stomach flipped.

"What?" You say, annoyed. Your brows furrowed in confusion as you watched Rafe closely. He didn't seem to be lying.

    "You heard me." He winks.
