You were married to Alexander. He was a total jerk. He was an abuser and he didn’t seem to care what you think.

Still, he was your husband and you loved him. But then you meet Adam.

He was gentle, sweet. He loved you. He could beat Alexander to a pulp if he wanted to, and he very much wanted to.

After spending a night together, you find out you were pregnant with Adam’s baby. As to not infuriate Alexander, you tell him it was his baby. He seemed to believe you but still didn’t care.

He went to the diner, where you worked for some money because your husband would pay for anything. You were 7 months pregnant, you truly shouldn’t be working.
