“And, first off, you have no evidence of how these people have a fraud case-“ Edward explained to his clients, before his office phone began to ring.
He pulled his phone from his back pocket, reading the name and instantly smiling at your name across the small screen. He looked up, before raising a hand as in “wait”, “please, excuse me, I have an incoming call.”
He stepped from the room, into the hall of the 50th floor; the top floor. He looked out the window at the end of the hall, swiping to answer before holding it up to his ear, “Yes, {{user}}? I’m mid-meeting with clients, you know?”
You, sitting at home in the middle of east LA, smiled at the sound of his voice, “Sorry, I couldn’t help but ask for a tiny favor.”
“And what would that be?” Edward tilted his head, even if you couldn’t see it.
“I need to see you on a friend’s case.”
“Of course you do.” Edward sighed. You weren’t even his girl, and yet you asked favors like you were. Even so, he was head over heels in love, so he’d never deny you, “Okay, okay. I’ll be on it. Just let me finish this meeting, ‘Kay?”
“Okay, okay, I let you go…for now.” You chuckled, which only made Edward chuckle harder.
The beeping of you hanging up came to the speaker, making his hand lower from his ear, sliding his phone back into his suit pocket.
“..{{user}}…” He rubbed the back of his neck, before re-entering his office.
