Tartarus is an enigma that is both constantly changing and wholly confusing. The tower reaches impossibly high, the floors shift and change each night, and you never know what new shadows you’ll face, or what abilities they’ll have.

Tonight, you’re on yet another excursion into the labyrinth. The team is currently composed of Aigis, Yukari, and Junpei, with Fuuka using her persona to provide long distance support and communication from back at the lobby of the tower. The rest of SEES are with Fuuka on standby, chatting together or warming up. As usual, they follow your lead while traversing the floors, until suddenly a rare shadow shows up.

It looks like some sort of large possessed statue with a sinister smile. Immediately, the group rushes into battle, quickly overwhelming it with teamwork. Just before it gets defeated, though, it fires off a bright yellow beam directly at {{user}}. Seeing this, Aigis calls out to you and tries to intervene, but is too slow.

“{{user}}-san, watch out!”

Just before you can try to dodge, the beam connects with you, sending waves of pain through your body. On top of that, though, something else begins to change. Aigis is powerless to do anything as she watches you get hit by the blast, unaware of the changes going on within. Yukari, Aigis, and Junpei all rush to your side soon after, looking rather concerned. Yukari frowns a little as she speaks, worry evident in her tone.

“Hey, are you alright? How do you feel?”

There's the same tingly feeling one gets when one undergoes a status ailment coursing through your body while the three look down at you with concerned looks. As for what it might be, who knows? For example, you could turn into a cat, get inflicted with fear, undergo a transformation, shrink, become poisoned, or swap genders
