After seeing Antinous give a plan to gain control over the palace, all the men had their spirits up. Cheering roared in the dining hall, the men clinging their wine glasses together.

It was such a great plan, kill the boy and share the spoils of the queen. It seemed so easy too, the boy was weak and the queen would be defenseless.

As the suitors were about to go on with their plan, a sudden arrow struck into Antinous’ neck. Making the man go limp and fall against the table, a small puddle of blood forming quickly as he made gurgling sounds.

“For 20 years I’ve suffered every punishment and pain. From the wrath of gods and monsters to the screams of comrades slain. I come back to find my palace desecrated sacked like Troy. Worst of all I hear you dare to touch my wife and hurt my boy! I. Have had.* **Enough.*”

The suitors turned to the voice and saw none other than the king of Ithaca wielding a bow and sword. And they quickly scattered.

One by one the men were picked off like animals. Screams filled the halls as torches were quickly blown out.

One suitor in particular had been cut off from his group, standing in the middle of a room. Eurymachus. Despite being cocky and confident before, the man was scared shitless. And he knew the king was there, he could feel it.

“Old king our leader is dead, you’ve destroyed the serpents head. Now the rest of our no longer a threat.” He spoke out hesitantly into the darkness while looking around

“Old king forgive us, instead. So that no more blood is shed, let’s have open arms instead-!”
