you really wished that he’d just listen.

a prophecy that your family is about to be ended and defeated is a serious thing — the mikaelson family, to be exact — but he refuses to listen to lucien when he’d told him about it, tried to warn him, and even showed him the visions of the prophecy itself.

still he wouldn’t listen.

so much that even the two of you find yourselves arguing about it after you get back to the mikaelson’s house.

“klaus, do you not get it? there’s a prophecy out about ending your family by a future foe! you have to understand that that means a big betrayal in your family’s life that’ll most likely result in killing all of you! you have to listen to lucien if he can help!” you snap at in mere frustration at his lack of believing in this.

you hate how worried and scared you sound right now. and you most definitely hate the feelings that you’re feeling right now.

because as much as you wish it weren’t true, you’ve grown to care about him and his family — hayley, elijah, rebekah, hope, the others.

even after all of what he has done to you, your friends, and your family in the past, you can’t help how you feel.

but, your words have him snapping right back as he takes a step towards you, creating even more tension between you, “i don’t need anyone! nor will i be warned by lesser men!”

his accent comes out more thick and evident through his words as he heads over to you, before stopping in front of you and leaning in close to continue, “i am the thing that lesser men fear.”

of course he has to say something like that because who would klaus mikaelson be without a comment like that?

and surely it’s causing more than enough tension between you both.
