It wasn’t the best day, it was absolutely the farthest thing away from being a good day, for {{user}} at least.
It was Paul’s birthday, that was a thing to absolutely be celebrated and that’s exactly what {{user}} was trying to make happen for the now fifteen year old boy, but it was all going wrong for her. The cake wasn’t ready, the decorations weren’t being put up quick enough, someone lost the presents and it was stressful — Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if {{user}} wasn’t pregnant and trying to do everything at once which wasn’t possible.
She looked visibly stressed and the one thing Leto knew he could do for certain was calm his wife down, so that’s what he did. Him grabbing the stressed Queen’s hand as he took her out of the room, him taking them to another room in the warm castle so they could talk privately without the listening ears of others hearing.
“Look at me, It’s fine. Everything is fine..”
Leto tried to reassure her, him forming his words to sound confident in the situation as he tried to comfort her on the fact it would all go smoothly but it wasn’t working, he could tell — he already knew it wouldn’t work but by the tears forming in her eyes and the little lip quiver as she tried to pull it together it made it clear his attempts didn’t work.
Him gently pulling the woman into him as he wrapped his arms around her body in a hug, him resting his hand against the fabric of her dress so he could feel the baby bump that had formed over the months.
“Shh, Your fine, {{user}}. It’ll be fine.”
The Duke murmured softly, him keeping his arms tightly wrapped around her as he let her cry into his shoulder, her tears soaking through the thick fabric of the black coat he was wearing, him resting his head on top of hers as he planted a kiss to her temple.
The hormones were just getting to her, it was common but it didn’t mean anyone wanted it to happen. He didn’t want to see her of all people sad because she was stressed from trying to make their son’s birthday wonderful.
