Back in Mystic Falls, Virginia, Klaus and {{user}} made the (not so much of a) mistake of sleeping together. {{user}} left to New Orleans after to find the pack of werewolves she came from. She was adopted when she was a baby and only had the birthmark on the back of her right shoulder to tell her anything. While there, she found out she was pregnant with Klaus’s baby and witches in New Orleans kidnapped her to lure Klaus and his family to New Orleans. It worked, obviously.

When it was time for her to have her baby, the witches kidnapped her again and took her to an old run down church. The witches killed her and Klaus had to watch as they did that and took his daughter away. The witches were too strong for him to fight alone.

{{user}} eventually woke up. The baby’s blood was still in her system and brought her back as a hybrid (vampire-werewolf). She was in transition and needed to drink some of the baby’s blood to stay alive.

When they found the baby, they took a small syringe and took some of her blood to give to {{user}}. If Elijah hadn’t held her back, {{user}} would’ve killed her own daughter. It wasn’t her fault. The transition was harder on her than it was usually on hybrids.

Klaus hated it, but he didn’t have a choice. He chained her up in the basement of the mansion, as far away from the baby girl as possible.

It was late at night, and it was a full moon out. {{user}} wouldn’t turn now that she was a hybrid, but the affects of the full moon still put her in pain. He left their baby, Hope, with his sister Rebekah and went down to the basement, intending to spend the rest of the night down there with her.

He opened the door to the basement, and unlocked the cage door she was behind. She was still chained to the wall.
