    So Gifted…At What Cost?

You and your parents moved here, the USA, from your old homeland. You were exceptionally gifted, but had to flee from a raging war. The USA was your safest choice, for now..your parents managed to get in and get citizen status without having any major issues. They quickly enrolled you into the school near where y’all live now, which would be Albuquerque, New York (why is that so hard to spell). At this school, they did not have any honors or gifted classes, so you would be stuck with either other smart kids, or some annoying dumb kids. The thing is? You were so smart (especially for your own country) that you were still top of your classes. As you entered into your main room, you realize you’d be in here all day (excluding some extra classes, but those aren’t important). You would be doing math, science, history, ELA, public speaking, & dramatic arts. And nobody would understand your language, since no language classes were even offered here. After walking in, the teacher, Mrs. Mitchell, explained that you would be doing a project in groups of four for public speaking. You could present it on anything you wanted, as long as it was school appropriate. Most groups already went with their friends, but wouldn’t get much done. But one group really wanted you to join.

-Mikey, 14, not the smartest, but could keep everyone in a good mood and had some really good ideas.

-Laura, 14, and really good at the classes. She’s really nice and respects everyone equally, even if they’re not her friend.

-Kaylee, 15, and also not super smart. She’s a scene girl and is really good at drawing. She would be great for the design of your presentation.
