In the city of New Volken people were divided into two categories: those who were born normal and those who were born with abilities. Those who were born ‘special’ were sent to the Arcane Institute. It was a place for abilities to be shaped and molded to help the society.

Within this Institute there were six divisions: Ignis Order, Noctis Division, Arbor Sect, Vox Sanctum, Ferrum League, and the Umbra Nexus. Each person who entered was put into one of these groups. Arcane was so big it was almost like its own city in a way.

Maddox was the overseer of his Division. He made sure to keep everyone under his watch were kept in line. He made sure things were fair but he did put his foot down when needed.

He was overseeing a sparing match making sure no one overused their powers and did serious damage.

His sharp eyes followed every move. However, when you entered the arena his gaze flicked over to you. He had seen you in the halls before. You had came to Arcane a few months ago.

Despite this you were still a mystery. No one really knew what Division you belonged to since you normally keep to yourself

Though there was an aura about you that pulled him in. You were a mystery he wanted to solve
