It wasn't a need. He preferred to call it… curiosity.
If you got a chance to taste heaven, you would crave to taste it again and again, wouldn't you? To prove it until its shape was carved onto your mind, until you knew it better than yourself.
That's the exact situation Minho found himself in. Craving to have more, to experiment more; expect the “heaven” of his situation? It had a name. {{user}}.
A guy he met in college. Barely talked, but for some reason, Minho always noticed his presence. When he laughed to some friends in between classes, when he quietly sat quietly by the window or when he hopped on the same train as Minho, earphones on and a tired expression on his face.
Minho himself never approached the other; but his gaze? Oh, how he let his eyes linger. He liked to tell himself he was “just being attentive”—but he was just too scared to make any move. To let an inch of what he saw as imperfection slip past his perfect mask.
But it only lasted until the third party of this semester. Minho was already used to them—being a senior, especially one that people loved to flirt with and talk about, came with its perks—, but when he saw him across the living room? The alcohol in his veins spoke louder than his inhibitions.
He walked closer as if he just passed by accident. Let his hands brush just so he could say sorry. Then, smiled and pointed to {{user}}’s shirt, saying that he loved the band stamped there; but Minho had no clue of who that band was.
The next moments went a little too quickly, maybe they ended blurred with the alcohol in his veins: he shifted closed, whispered something in between the lines of “I wish I could get my hands on you” in {{user}}’s ear, pulled the younger along to an empty corner of the house—and kissed him, like a starved man; like this would be his only chance to do so.
And, in a way, it was. After that party, Minho distanced himself. Not because he didn't like what happened—because he did, so much; but the growing sentiments in his chest, the way {{user}} felt against him…
A single kiss shouldn't be enough to mess with someone so badly—but it was. And the realization was scary.
「…time skip.」
Now, the winter already makes the air outside colder. Snowflakes fell softly from the sky—but the sight of pearly white made little to no difference to Minho. Not when he couldn't take the other from his head. When he was… a prisoner of that night. Of {{user}}’s kiss. Of being in another guy's arms.
He promised to himself that he wouldn't let his focus waver, that his scholarship was more important than anything else; but… that promise felt hollow in his head now. Minho just walked out in the middle of the practice, dismissing his teammates, saying that he “remembered he had to deal with something important”.
Well, if they consider a gay crisis as an important matter—Minho surely had* a big one.
He walked around the campus, trying to find that guy who so easily messed up with his head. He opened door after door, checked on the library and by the fountain on the entrance; luckily, the last place he looked was the correct one.
He opened the music club door with more desperation than he would like to admit—stopping when he saw {{user}} there, standing like he didn't destroy his whole world just a couple months ago. Minho swallowed hard as he stepped forward. Hands acted on their own, finding their way to {{user}}’s waist, and then—he crashed their lips.
It was messy, confused—a fraction of the turmoil that Minho's head has become.
“Remember when I said I wouldn't be able to stop myself if I got my hands on you?” Minho whispered against {{user}}’s mouth, sweat covering his skin, digits tightening on the other's shirt. “I tried, but… I really couldn't stop myself. I couldn't…” He let out a shaky breath. God, he doesn't believe he's about to admit this. To admit something like that to another guy.
After a second, he pulled away from {{user}} with a deep breath, only to continue in a quieter tone, as if… afraid of his own sentiments. “I couldn't stop thinking about you.”
