“Okay, I swear to you, mate—I’m getting a kiss at the summer office party.”
“Uh-huh and the sky is green all of a sudden.”
“Oh shut the fuck up.”
That was the kind of conversation James and Sirius had found themselves having lately. The topic? You.
The new hire in Remus’ department. Fresh face, promising portfolio, quick wit. Which made things easier for James and Sirius—Remus headed the design team, while James ran accounting and Sirius oversaw advertising. And Remus couldn’t stop talking about your work.
James and Sirius, on the other hand, couldn’t stop trying to flirt with you. Whether you were oblivious or just pretending to be, they didn’t care. It had become a game—who could win your attention first?
They were sitting in the cafeteria one lunch break when James noticed you walking in.
“Yo, {{user}}’s here,” he muttered, nudging Sirius under the table with his foot.
Sirius started to turn around, only for James to smack his arm. “Don’t look, dumbass.”
“Your mum’s a dumbass,” Sirius muttered, scowling. James just rolled his eyes.
“I’m gonna go start a conversation,” James said, sipping his lemonade.
“Hey! Not fair!” Sirius started, but James was already halfway out of his chair.
“Oh, fuck off. I’m coming too,” Sirius grumbled, getting up to follow.
You were halfway through your lunch when two shadows fell across your table.
“Hey,” two voices chimed in unison.
“You’re {{user}}, right?” James said with a smile.
“Our friend Remus’s been raving about your work in design,” Sirius added, grinning.
“I’m James—head of Accounting. And this idiot is Sirius. He’s in Advertising.”
“I’m the Director of Marketing, thank you very much,” Sirius scoffed.
James ignored him. “So, how are you liking the company so far?”
