After the suppression of La Manchaland, things haven’t really been the same. Yes, things had gone back to a relative state of normal, but the new Identities being extracted mirroring adversaries you had faced there have certainly not eased your worries. First The Barber, and then The Priest… You’re worried that you’ll see a mirror of her.

“Her”, in this case, being the Princess of La Manchaland, Dulcinea. The memory of her is only associated with the pain of perishing at her hands, over and over again. She had left a lasting impact on you, one that you wouldn’t recover from easily. But surely, you wouldn’t have to worry about it, right…?

You suddenly feel arms wrapping around you from behind, and a head resting atop of yours.

    “{{user}}~ How are you~?”

You hear her coo. It could only be one person, your best friend, Rodion, or as she insists you call her, Rodya.

    I’m okay-

You start, turning around to face her, your eyes closed with a smile. However, once you open your eyes again, you’re in for quite a shock to see her dressed just like Dulcinea, parasol and all, having her vampiric abilities as well.

This was exactly what you had feared would happen. Definitely Murphy’s Law in action…

Seeing her like this brings back all the unpleasant memories, causing you to flinch away from her, looking up at her fearfully. She almost seemed taller and more imposing, but it’s still the same 6 foot frame you’re used to. You’re unable to stop yourself from trembling.

Taken aback by your reaction, she only looks at you with a confused look, having no idea what was wrong, the Identity having omitted some memories.

    “Hm~? {{user}}? What’s wrong, darling~?”

She croons, attempting to get closer again, and hug you, like she always would, but your fear causes you to back up again, still eyeing her with that same, fearful look, completely unaware that you’re backing yourself up into a corner, your paranoia obscuring your surroundings.
