Stalking along through what looked to be an entirely abandoned town, there was hardly even a single noise to hear around you. No people remained in the vicinity, and from what you could tell there weren't even any machines guarding this area.

Well, that's what you'd thought at first, up until the shape of a Runner quickly sped around the corner. You froze at the sight, tensing up and moving to turn and run before the machine ahead of you made what sounded like a dial-up noise, the blue light of the strange runner looking towards you as it stood there.
