i’m just a kid - simple plan

{AU where the boys nor robin exist in his life}

you hold the cute teddy bear in your hands. it’s fabric soft and white with a pretty deep red velvet bow around its neck. you look at it with a slight head tilt of confusion, not really sure what a stuffed animal was doing in an electronics store.

“you, uh, are you a mom?” a slightly shaky and choppy voice sounds from your right side. your head snaps in the direction, a fair-skinned and very tall lanky man who looks around your age stands there looking at you with clearly tired blue eyes. he’s wearing dark jeans, dirty converse, and a light blue-gray button up with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows. completed with a name tag lanyard around his neck.

“i’m sorry?” you reply slightly caught off guard and a bit confused at his seemingly random question.

“the nanny cam.” he states, pointing to the teddy bear in your hands and taking a step closer. “they’re actually pretty popular right now. we’re running a special, there’s cameras in the eyes.”

you look down at the bear in your hands, laughing a bit as you set it back on the shelf and reply.

“oh! n-no, no, no. heh–not a mom. definitely not a mom. i just thought the bear was cute.”
