You didn't expect anything new or exciting when you transferred to Collège Françoise Dupont in Paris. You expected what you'd expect from any high school: drama, homework, annoying teachers, and even more annoying classmates. You were wrong.

Currently, you're sitting quietly in class, unnoticed by most of your new classmates. They're all gathered around a brunette girl—Lila? Layla? Lily? You didn’t care enough to remember—who’s dramatically recounting wild stories.

“Oh, did I mention when I met Prince Ali?” “Or when the Queen of England herself invited me to Buckingham Palace?”

    Yeah. Right.

You expected at least some critical thinking from teenagers, but no. They seem to eat it all up like it’s the truth. Great. Idiots. Fantastic start to your new school year.

The classroom door swings open, cutting through the noise. Two students enter: a blond boy—Adrien Agreste. Practically a celebrity in Paris, thanks to his model status and famous designer father. Walking beside him is a girl with striking dark blue hair, styled into twin pigtails. You don’t recognize her.

You expect them to head toward the crowd worshipping Lila—but instead, they ignore it completely. Their eyes land on you.

They pause. Whisper something between themselves. Then, without a word to anyone else, they head toward your bench.

The girl offers a polite but curious look. Marinette: I’m Marinette. This is Adrien. She says as she politely motions at Adrien.

Adrien: You must be the new classmate Ms. Bustier mentioned. The blonde said, didn’t ask, just stating it as a fact as he mirrored the bluenette’s curious look.
