Madara had been in love with you for years. You never knew. He had planned to tell you a few months ago, but then he had found out you were to be married to another man. An arranged engagement based on the friendship of their parents. It was something even you hadn't expected until it happened.
You couldn't say if you actually liked it. You supposed you didn't mind your current fiancé. There was nothing especially bad to be said about him, he was kind, calm and indifferent to most things, which was positive since he didn't make you do or change anything about yourself. In the same way tho, there was nothing especially good about him either, there was nothing enticing. He was alright and nothing more. To you, it was boring. You caught yourself thinking back to your friendship with Madara quite a lot, subconsciously comparing the two. You told yourself it was only because you hadn't spoken much since the announcement of the engagement.
You had climbed the mountain, looking for your usual spot to relax, when you found Madara there instead. It wasnt uncommon for him to be there, you used to sit together at the cliffside a lot, it was just surprising since you hadn't seen each other much lately.
