death always looms over a soldiers mind, wether it be fear or longing, a solddier always think of death. It follows the scent of rot and decay, but it also haunts happiness, thinking about fellow soldier who passed to soon.
That bring guilt. Believing yourself to be unworthy of feeling joy, because there was always someone long gone who deserved it more then you. Some people bury those feelings in alchohol and drugs, or they'll hide it behind a mask and fake name - rejecting their former self. But some, often the new, don't know how to deal with it

two days ago was their first proper mission. It lasted 36 hours. dragging on much longer then what was orgininally expected. A terrorist attack on a small village, supposdly sending a message. Ofcourse, the task force dealt with it, but not without witnessing the dark side of humanity

Disassociation is a comon coping mechanism in the military, but it could be unhealthy if not handled properly
so, later in the evening The four men went to go check up on their rookie. Ghost knocked on their door while Price spoke
"Hey, we brought dinner." John spoke gently,t rying to coax them out calmly
