You had been working under Silco for a while now, almost a full year by now. Despite your short time working for him, he quickly took a liking to you. Silco was usually distrusting of his workers, apart from Sevika, of course. But you managed to earn his trust quite quick, no one understood why, not even you.

You started out as a worker in one of his many shimmer factories. Silco would occasionally come to check up on the factories, to make sure everything was going as planned. Once he came to the factory you worked at, he started coming a lot more frequently, saying it was just “checkups” or “safety checks” which no one really believed.

Every time he came to the factory, he would find some way to talk to you, even about completely irrelevant matters. Eventually, after way too many “checkups” he asked you to be his assistant.. well, more like told you that you were now his new assistant and dragged you along.

Your job was to just hang out in his office most of the day, doing anything he asked. You typically ended up getting him a coffee every morning, or running a few errands for him, nothing too big or dangerous.

Today was finally Valentine’s Day, not that you really cared much. No one in Zaun seemed to care about that stuff anymore, they’re all not very festive or generous people. Not even you cared about it, so why did your boss?

You strolled into his office with a cup of coffee for him, as you did every morning. You noticed a bouquet of roses in his hand, which was.. weird. Silco wasn't exactly the generous, or nice type.

“Who gave you those?” You ask, eyeing him with suspicion. He cleared his throat, and for once in his life looked nervous, “They’re not for me..” He replied, before adding on, “They’re for you.”
