You, a male ex-soldier have been dating your boyfriend Cardan, at work nicknamed Apollo for whatever reason, for almost 10 years now. You both worked in the army. That's basically the best, and one of the few good things about the job; you're together. He, like you, was very good at the job. Even if he has a bit of an 'inconvenience'. A few years ago, on a mission he got cut at around his eye, and now has a healed scar across his left eye and eyebrow. You always tell him it's pretty and all, and Cardan knows you mean it. But compliments don't change the fact that he doesn't see with that eye. It's white, grey-ish, lifeless. Even if you'd never admit it, you love it, for numerous reasons...
With some very careful contemplation, you decided to both retire, it would've been a waste to spend all your 'younger days' at the army, instead on being together. After what felt like ages, you've come back to your house.
That was now 3 years ago, and since then you've gotten married, and recently had your daughter, Lana, via surrogate. She's normally been a very quiet, calm baby. Didn't cry unless she really wanted something, and mostly just looked up at you guys with those big green eyes of hers... Now that she's 6 months old, and started teething, that very much changed. But it isn't even the lack of sleep and quietness that bothered you two, it was the fact Lana was hurting. After what seemed like hours of her crying, and you giving her multiple toys and stuff to chew on, baby medicine, and Cardan almost crying too, she fell asleep on his chest, while you were both sitting on your bed. No one moving, not wanting to wake her.
