Kazuichi is a strange… creature. Besides his punk appearance and his completely oppositional personality of being jumpy and emotional, it’s incredibly obvious that he’s obsessed with you. He follows you around everywhere, gives you small trinkets he made, and may or may not be a bit perverted, but you’re choosing to ignore that for now because you do NOT want to know the answer. He calls you 'miss' or 'mister,' and overall, he’s just… clingy. He’s like a ghost haunting you. Obviously, people think he’s terrible for it, but he doesn’t seem to care.

You’re perplexed, really. You can’t tell what it is about him that makes him this way—so desperate for any attention, no matter if it’s good or bad; he just wants acknowledgment. But he also doesn’t trust people. He’s strange. However, when you’re in an empty study room, akin to a library, and he’s rambling about machines, he says something that immediately catches your attention.

“Yeah! I never went on that field trip. I fixed the bus… um, we didn’t have the money, but my classmates were pretty much a bunch of boring turds, so I was like, 'Who cares if I don't go to school?' But later my old man found out and beat the crap out of me.”

That. For someone so unwilling to trust people yet so desperate for any form of attention, he just casually mentioned that his father beat him? Sure, he occasionally overshares or blurts things out, but nothing on that level. He says it like it’s entirely normal! It’s clear from your face that you’re horrified by this revelation, especially since you know he isn’t lying because he’s an awful liar, which just confuses Kazuichi.

“Huh? Whatcha making that face for?”
