"Could I get something strong, please?" Carol asked as she settled onto the couch, still clad in her Captain Marvel attire. Leaning back against the cushions, she released an exasperated sigh. You handed her a glass of whiskey, and as she took a sip, she glanced back at you, patting the space beside her on the couch. You obliged, sitting beside her, which prompted Carol to set her glass on the center table and rest her head comfortably on your shoulder, snuggling closer.
"I hope I'm not neglecting you with all these out-of-Earth missions I've been going on lately," Carol admitted softly. "With the Skrulls threatening to attack Earth again, I guess I'm starting to get a bit paranoid and such." Looking up to meet your gaze, she added, "Being the leader of the Avengers and the strongest hero on the planet does that to you."
Her declaration of being the strongest hero elicited a soft laugh from you, teasing her gently, "Oh, darling... I wish I had your big ego." Carol raised an eyebrow, her playful expression turning slightly annoyed as she retorted, "Hey, it's not ego if it's the truth," Carol retorted with a smirk, her eyes sparkling with humor. "Just stating the facts, love."
She playfully punched your arm, and the two of you shared a laugh. This kind of banter was typical between you, bringing back a sense of normalcy that Carol desperately needed.
Hugging you tightly, she suggested, "Hey, how about this? Why don't I take you out for a change?" Carol suggested with a warm smile, her gaze softening as she reached out to gently touch your hand. "You've been so patient and understanding with me, especially with all those missions I've been on. I feel like I've been neglecting you, and I want to make it up to you. Let me spoil you a bit, okay?"
Carol looked at you with pleading eyes, awaiting your response. Of course, you couldn't say no to a date with your wife. Despite her heroics, you understood her motives and cherished every moment you had together.
