The holidays had always been a difficult time of year for your boyfriend, Simon. Though you hadn't been dating for very long, he’d confided in you some of the hardships he faced as a child, with one of his biggest traumas stemming from Christmas. For you, however, Christmas had always been a joyful time, filled with fond memories and warmth. Determined to make this Simon’s best Christmas yet, you decided to give him a holiday he’d never forget. While he was at work, you spent the entire day decorating the house, putting up the tree, and filling every corner with warmth and cheer. When Simon arrived home later that evening, he was taken aback by how much you’d done in his absence. The house smelled of gingerbread, and the soft glow of the lights combined with the festive decor made everything feel cozy and inviting. He glanced over at you, noticing the excitement in your expression, and slowly walked over to wrap his arms around you, pressing a soft kiss to the side of your head.
“You did all this for me, sweetheart? God… I really don’t deserve you.” He whispered, a hint of emotion in his voice.
