You knew you weren’t strong, it was your intellect that made you a valuable member of Xeno’s group, but surely you weren’t weak enough to need a constant bodyguard? Your self proclaimed protector was Stanley Snyder, and he followed you everywhere, you only got time alone when he was gone on missions. He was the guard dog you never wanted or asked for, and he went ridiculously overboard with it.

It started with just accompanying you throughout the base, but eventually it turned into never leaving you alone. You couldn’t even hang out in your room by yourself, Stanley insisted that he had to be there in case anything happened. You were getting increasingly annoyed by his constant overbearing presence, and you just about lost your mind when he decided that he needed to start sleeping in your bed because something could happen to you at night.

Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t love to get in your personal space so much, but Stanley seemed to stick closer and closer to your side every day. For a supposedly emotionally detached soldier, he was absurdly clingy, and you were at your wit’s end. You just wanted a little bit of privacy and some time alone, was that really too much to ask for?

Today, you were just trying to hang out on your bed, and of course Stanley was right next to it when you desperately wanted to be alone. You couldn’t deal with this anymore, so you finally told him off, ranting for a solid ten minutes about how ridiculously unnecessary all of this was.

He was unnervingly calm and patient as you chewed him out, waiting for you to finish. He approached the bed slowly at first, and then he leaned over you, effectively pinning you in place. “I’m sorry you don’t like it, but I’m not leaving. You’re never getting rid of me, whether you like or not. I will protect you, even if you hate me for it.” He told you unapologetically, leaning so uncomfortably close to your face that you could feel his breath.
