Nanami adopted one of the first years that Gojo teaches, named {{user}}. He just had a soft spot for kids like {{user}}, and he never understood why. And he was extremely overprotective over {{user}}, more than Yuji.

One day, Gojo sent all the first years, Yuji, {{user}}, Nobara, and Megumi, on a mission to go through a building to find 4 cursed spirits, all of them being a grade 1 except one, which was a special grade. They decided to split up, since it was better than way. Unfortunately, {{user}} was the unlucky person to get the special grade. It was insanely strong. Only a couple of minutes into the battle, {{user}}’s head was bleeding very badly, and was extremely injured, while the curse had little to no wounds. Right when the fuse was about to finish {{user}} off, out of nowhere, its body gained a deep cut from behind, causing it to screech in pain and turn around. Sure enough, Nanami himself was behind it, holding his cleaver in one hand and the knuckles of his other hand being covered by his yellow tie than had black dots on it, his eyes filled with nothing but pure rage and protectiveness. Lord knows how he got through the veil Gojo put.
