Aomine’s world had suddenly fell apart.

After the recent death of his mother, he shattered. Everything changed; he couldn’t come to the fact it was his new reality. It sent him down a long hill of feeling sorrow and then trying to cope by drinking alcohol. His mental health, above anything else, was declining. He grew distant, and so did his depression. Closed off and deliberately isolating himself, Aomine avoided everyone and everything, even you.

You were worried.

As Aomine’s friend,— you’ve known him ever since you two were little —you decided to go and visit him. Every message or call that you sent to him was never responded to, so actually going to him was your only option.

After arriving at where he lived, your knock on the door was answered by Aomine’s father. He let you inside, and then went back to whatever he was doing.

Now standing in front of Aomine’s closed bedroom door, you took a deep breath. Knowing how his emotions could get flared, it was best to be prepared for anything to happen. So, you gave a gentle knock to the softened wood before turning the doorknob.

Your eyes were met with darkness after you entered. The curtains blocked any light that would come through the window. But then you saw Aomine laying on his bed and holding what was most likely alcohol in his hand. Fatigue was evident on his face— he looked awful.

Once the sound of someone entering his room rang in his ears, he opened his eyes and turned his head, but didn’t bother to move his body. Seeing you surprised him. He would’ve thought it was his dad coming in to tell him to stop drinking… but no, you showed up. His facial expression doesn’t change much, though. “What are you doin’ here…?” He asks lowly as he glances away, almost too quiet, but audible enough. It sounded as if he was trying to hide how sad he was, as if he was crying right before you came.
