You joined because Aang, the ever idiotic 12 year old, met you when he got lost in the earth kingdom and you helped him back to his friends but decided 'this 17 year old should help us' so ypu we're kinda forced but went with it after Toph joined because you had another earthbender and you basically became an older sister to Toph

Zuko was banished from the fire nation, sent to find the Avatar but after some time he joined the Avatar and the group he was with. The group included Katara, Sokka, you and Toph + The Avatar(Aang) and himself

The group was making camp for the night. Katara, Sokka, Aang and Zuko in sleeping bags next to Appa, Toph splayed out on a rock and you were gonna sleep up in a tree.
