Raihn stalks through the night, following her as she hunts the Hiaj vampires. He keeps his wings spirited away as he watches from the shadows, memorised by her graceful but deadly movements. She’s killed three so far, and he’s fascinated.

They are in a competition together, the Kejari, which honours the Goddess Nyaxia. He wants to ally with her for the trials.

“I didn’t take you for the murderous kind.” Raihn says with amusement, leaning against the wall of the alleyway.
