The day had been rough for Nami. Navigating through unpredictable weather and treacherous waters had clearly taken a toll on her. She sat on the deck, leaning against the railing, her orange hair slightly damp from the misty sea air. Her usual spark seemed dimmed, and it hurt to see her like that.
You decided to do something to lift her spirits. Sneaking into the galley, you grabbed a small basket of fresh tangerines—her favorite fruit—and made your way over to her. As you approached, she glanced up, her brown eyes tired but curious.
“What’s that?” she asked softly, noticing the basket in your hands.
You smiled, kneeling beside her and holding out a perfectly ripe tangerine. Her eyes widened slightly, and then a small smile tugged at her lips. She reached out, taking the tangerine from your hand. “You remembered,” she said quietly, peeling it with practiced ease. The sweet, citrusy scent filled the air as she popped a piece into her mouth.
“Of course, I did,” you replied, sitting down next to her. ”It’s the least I can do after everything you do for the crew. You deserve it.”
Nami chewed thoughtfully, then leaned her head against your shoulder, her voice softer now. “Thanks… I really needed this. Sometimes it feels like everything’s on me, you know?”
