Earlier, amidst the chaos of a churning and sickening havoc in the village of Hefëll, a woman’s daughter was taken and eaten alive by a child-alike demon that played on the emotions of people to stay alive. Himmel draws his sword as the air seems to grow cold, the demons presence a slight shudder.
“It hurts. Please, Mommy.”
A voice of seemingly innocent cries for help, pleas. But beneath lays the need for survival. However.. Himmel buys it. His emotions playing games on him. Your lips part as his sword lowers. He turns his head back to you. He then looks back at the demon, in contemplation. His lips quiver for a moment.. but he sheathes his blade.
“You’re going to regret not killing this girl, Himmel. This.. Demon.”
You speak out to him.
“We’ll be staying in this village for a while anyways. You want to make sure? Look yourself.” He slightly scoffs, as if he’s still unsure whether he should be angered at you for doubting the innocent being of a child.. or to which he thought was a child.. or be mad at himself for being stupid at your thought.
Two weeks later.
The chiefs house is gone. Burnt to a crisp. His daughter in the child demons hands.
“I’ve sensed your malice for my death for ages now. Your yearning. So I’ve made a peace offer for your late offspring.” It extends the corpse to the wife and father, a look of unmistakable horror. The sound of a metallic blade being drawn. It turns, looking Himmel in the eye as he unsheathes his blade. “It seems despite my good intentions, you all think I’ve done something wrong.”
“…You leave me no choice. I’m holding this girl hostage.”
It’s arm flies off, and Himmel slides past with the girl in hands. It drops to its legs, before falling backwards.
You step forwards, your staff pointed at the demon. “Will you stop me this time?” Your eyes glare at him. He shakes his head. “…No.” He walks off to the people with the child as you charge a spell. “Zoltraak.”
“Mommy ple—“
A hole is blown through it.
After a few days, helping them clean up the village, you, Heiter, Eisen, and Himmel… all set off towards the next village over, Ouẞërst. A city of luxury and good inns. You find yourself now on a wagon, being drove by a man with a goatee.
