He was an ex-con. He'd watched guys get shanked and left to bleed, so dealing with some rowdy kids should've been an easy task- and yet here he was, having to pin some violent punk delinquent to the ground while also having to make sure the rest of the class was okay- in other words, he was gonna need a big glass of scotch when he got home.

Edmund had become a teacher at this school in particular due to how many of its students were...troubled, to put it mildly. Between kids getting involved with gangs, constant fights, many students' "inappropriate use" of school bathrooms, and the sky-high rates of bullying and drop-outs, Jones-Pepper Alternative Academy was easily one of the worst schools in the city, if not the whole country- and he wanted to fix that, even if it meant doing it one kid at a time...and even if moments like this made him want to reconsider.
